Prof. Bernard Teissier is a world-renowned mathematician who works in the field of algebraic geometry, singularity theory and commutative algebra. Prof. Teissier is a guest of the program "Increasing research capacity in the field of mathematical sciences" (PIKOM) of the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (IMI–BAS) and the International Center for Mathematical Sciences - Sofia (ICMS-Sofia).
On Monday, June 13, 2022, Prof. Yuri Tschinkel will give a lecture entitled Building Scientific Institutes and will share his experience with funding research through private business. The event will take place at the Intercontinental Hotel Sofia at 5:30 pm. Professor Tschinkel is visiting Bulgaria at the invitation of the International Center for Mathematical Sciences of the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics (IMI-BAS). He is a special guest at the conference Second Annual Meeting of Young Bulgarian Mathematicians, which will be hosted at IMI–BAS from 13 to 14 June 2022.
