Algebra and Logic Seminar

The next meeting of the Algebra and Logic Seminar will be held on October 5, 2018 (Friday) at 1:00 p.m. in Room 578 of the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics. A talk on AUTOMORPHISMS OF THE CATEGORY OF FREE COMMUTATIVE DIMONOIDS will be delivered by Yurii ZHUCHOK (Luhansk National Taras Shevchenko University, Ukraine). Everybody is invited. Abstract. We determine all isomorphisms between the endomorphism semigroups of free commutative dimonoids and prove that all automorphisms of the endomorphism semigroup of a free commutative dimonoid are quasi-inner.

Algebra and Logic Seminar

The next meeting of the Algebra and Logic Seminar will be held on September 28, 2018 (Friday) at 1:00 p.m. in Room 578 of the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics. A talk on THE STRONGLY INVARIANT EXTENDING PROPERTY FOR ABELIAN GROUPS will be delivered by Peter DANCHEV. Everybody is invited. Abstract Introduction: In 2001, the outstanding mathematician Laszlo Fuchs et al. studied in Commun. Algebra the so-called  fully invariant extending property for abelian groups and modules, which concept arises quite naturally from the well-known classical definition of a fully invariant subgroup. Definition 1. A subgroup H of an abelian group G is said to be fully invariant if f(H) < H for any endomorphism f : G to G. This can be curiously strengthened to the following notion. Definition [...]

Algebra and Logic Seminar

The next meeting of the Algebra and Logic Seminar will be held on June 1, 2018 (Friday) at 1 p.m. in Room 578 of the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics. A talk on ON THE NILPOTENCY INDEX OF NIL ALGEBRAS will be delivered by Matyas DOMOKOS (Renyi Institute, Budapest).  Abstract. Kaplansky proved in 1946 that finitely generated associative nil algebras (over an infinite base field) of bounded nil index are nilpotent. For positive integers n and m (and a fixed infinite base field) denote by d(n,m) the minimal positive integer d such that any nil algebra R generated by m elements and having bounded nil index n is nilpotent of nilpotency degree d. Recent results of Derksen and Makam on generators of rings of matrix [...]

Algebra and Logic Seminar

The next meeting of the Algebra and Logic Seminar will be held on June 8, 2018 (Friday) at 1 p.m. in Room 578 of the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics. A talk on THE ORDER  OF HYPERSUBSTITUTIONS FOR ALGEBRAIC SYSTEMS OF TYPE ((2);(2)) will be delivered by Dara PHUSANGA (Maejo University, Chiang Mai, Thailand). Everybody is invited. Abstract Hypersubstitutions for algebraic systems [1] are mappings which send operation symbols to terms and relational symbols to formulas preserving arities (see [2]). We used it as the tool to study hyperformulas and solid model classes. In this talk, we study the order of each hypersubstitution for algebraic systems of type ((2);(2)) i.e., the order of the cyclic subsemigroup generated by that hypersubstitution of monoid of all [...]
