Scientific Conference on Differential Equations and Mathematical Models in Economics”

Institute of Mathematics and Informatics, BAS Akad.G.Bonchev St, bl. 8, 1113, Sofia

The scientific conference on Differential Equations and Mathematical Models in Economics will be held on February 27 -  28, 2023, in the Conference Room of the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. The conference is dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Associate Professor Yordan Yordanov (1948-2021), a researcher and teacher of long-standing practice in the field of differential equations and mathematical modeling in economics. During the conference, current results will be presented on topics close to the scientific interests of Assoc. Prof. Yordanov. The conference is organized by the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, and the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics, Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski". Seminar of the International Center of Mathematical Sciences

Institute of Mathematics and Informatics, BAS Akad.G.Bonchev St, bl. 8, 1113, Sofia

The next meeting of the seminar of the International Center for Mathematical Sciences will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at 2:00 pm, in Room 403 of IMI - BAS. Speaker: Dr. Dimitar Kodjabachev, IMI - BAS. Title: Gorenstein rings in stable homotopy theory Abstract. I will discuss a generalization, due to Dwyer, Greenlees and Iyengar, of the notion of a Gorenstein ring from commutative algebra to the algebra of ring spectra. I will illustrate the concept with classical examples from stable homotopy theory as well as more exotic ones coming from derived algebraic geometry, namely the ring spectra of topological modular forms with level structure. Time permitting, I will discuss how things generalize equivariantly in the presence of a group action.
