Mathematical Quantum Field Theory
International conference in memory of Ivan Todorov
Start date: 26 May 2026
End date: 30 May 2026
Event location: Hall “Prof. Marin Drinov”, BAS, Sofia, Bulgaria
Organized by the Institute for Nuclear Research and Nuclear Energy (INRNE) and the International Center for Mathematical Sciences at the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences
The conference encompasses a wide range of modern topics at the intersection of physics and mathematics, including conformal field theory, vertex operator algebras, integrable systems, supersymmetry, gauge theory, gravity, cosmology, quantum information, and the mathematical structures that connect them.
Ivan Todorov (1933-2024) was a leading Bulgarian theoretical physicist whose contributions to mathematical physics, conformal field theory, and the algebraic approach to quantum field theory shaped generations of researchers. He spent his career at the Institute for Nuclear Research and Nuclear Energy (INRNE-BAS) and held many fruitful collaborations with colleagues around the world. This conference brings together former students, collaborators, and friends to celebrate his scientific legacy and international recognition.
