A new course on the interplay between abelian sandpiles (prototypical model of self-organized criticality) and tropical geometry (contemporary branch of mathematics) will start on October 28th:
The meetings are planned to be from 16:00 to 19:00 (GMT+3) on most Tuesdays and Thursdays until the end of the year — with two hours of lectures followed by one hour of discussions/exercises.
The first two meetings are scheduled for 28th and 30th of October, room 578 at IMI-BAS (the room may change in November) and Zoom (the link will remain the same): https://us06web.zoom.us/j/ 86556797224?pwd= g1gjtRHFenzbgJ9s29kOo1nZQVqcoR .1
The meetings will not be recorded; however, the notes will be made available at the website of the course.
