The next meeting of the Mathematical Foundations of Informatics seminar will be held on September 17, 2026, at 11 a.m. in Room 503 of the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics. A talk on: 2-factor Hamiltonian graphs and their applications will be delivered by Prof. Domenico Labbate, University of Basilicata, Italy. Abstract. A graph is 2-factor Hamiltonian if every spanning 2-regular subgraph is a Hamilton cycle. This talk presents the main results on 2-factor Hamiltonian graphs, focusing on the cubic bipartite case and its equivalence with minimally 1-factorable graphs. We discuss the star-product construction and the still-open conjecture of Funk, Jackson, Labbate and Sheehan, which predicts that all such graphs arise from (K_{3,3}) and the Heawood graph through repeated star products.
