DESCRIPTION:Секция “Образование по математика и информатика” на ИМИ-БАН организира еднодневна научно-практическа конференция “Динамична математика в образованието”\, която ще се проведе на 12 февруари 2022 година в ИМИ-БАН. Two geometric notions\, namely Kähler manifolds of quasi-constant holomorphic sectional curvature and generalized Sasakian space forms\, are related to each other\, for the first time. Some conditions under which each of these structures induces the other one\, are provided here. Several results are obtained on direct products (which are special cases of Naveira’s classification)\, warped products or hypersurfaces of manifolds and relevant examples are included. A result of Niebergall and Ryan is generalized here. Some necessary and sufficient conditions for Einsteinian hypersurfaces are given at the end. The talk is based on a joint work with S. (петък) от 16:00 ч. ще се проведе дистанционно заседание на семинара по „Алгебра и логика”. \nДоклад на тема: \nThe Bulgarian Solitaire and Other Games on Partitions\nще изнесе Веселин Дренски (ИМИ – БАН). \nРезюме. In 2020 the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University (Nur-Sultan\, Kazakhstan) decided to organize International Scientific Conference “Algebra and Logic” dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Professor Ualbai Umirbaev and the 75th anniversary of Professor Leonid Makar-Limanov. The meeting was cancelled because of the Covid-19 pandemic. The present talk is based on the talk I planned to give in Nur-Sultan.\n\nThe (quite amusing) story presented in the talk is an example of how an elementary mathematical game can inspirit serious mathematical investigations in Combinatorics\, Graph theory\, Discrete dynamical systems\, Cellular automata\, Linear algebra\, Statistics\, Economical models. The topic has the advantage that most of the problems can be stated in a form which attracts young people to mathematical research.\n\nThe Bulgarian solitaire is a mathematical card game played by one person. A pack of n cards is divided into several decks (or “piles”). Each move consists of the removing of one card from each deck and collecting the removed cards to form a new deck. The game ends when the same position occurs twice. It has turned out that when n = k(k + 1)/2 is a triangular number\, the game reaches the same stable configuration with size of the piles 1\,2\,…\, k. In the talk we discuss mathematical problems related with the Bulgarian solitaire. The talk is based on the paper (with additional information collected after its publishing):\n\nV. Стойчо Язаджиев\,\nИнститут по математика и информатика\, Българска академия на науките \nРезюме: Уравненията на Айнщайн играят централна роля в съвременната фундаментална физика и изучаването на техните регулярни решения е от първостепенна важност. Стационарните решения на уравненията на Айнщайн описват различни компактни обекти като черни дупки\, звезди\, солитони и са особено важни за гравитационно-вълновата физика и астрофизиката като цяло. Това поставя въпроса за класификацията на тези решения. В случая на черни дупки класификацията на възможните топологии на хоризонта на събитията е от първостепенно значение. От математическа гледна точка е естествено задачата за класификация на регулярните стационарни решения и задачата за класификацията на топологиите на хоризонта да се постави за пространствено-времеви многообразия с произволна размерност. Допълнителните измерения обаче са силно интересни и от физическа гледна точка\, защото дават възможност по естествен начин да се обединят всички взаимодействия в Природата. В този доклад ще демонстрирам основните идеи как биха могли да се обединят всички взаимодействия на базата на пространство-време с допълнителни измерения и след това ще представя класификационните теореми за регулярните решения на уравненията на Айнщайн и класификационните теореми за възможните топологии на хоризонта във високи измерения с група на изометрии R X U(1)^D. Като частен случай\, споменатите теореми класифицират също и гравитационните инстантони\, т.е. римановите (евклидовите) решения на Айнщайновите уравнения. Ще разгледам и конкретни примери на решения описващи черни дупки с нетривиална топология. Ще се спра също и на класификацията на решенията на уравненията на Айнщайн притежаващи фотонна сфера\, която формира образите (сенките) на черните дупки и други самогравитиращи компактни обекти. \n  \nПоканват са всички интересуващи се.

(петък) от 14:00 ч. ще се проведе дистанционно заседание на семинара по „Алгебра и логика”. \nДоклад на тема: \nMulti-summation in difference rings and applications\nще изнесе Carsten Schneider (Research Institute for Symbolic Computation\, Johannes Kepler University\, Linz\, Austria). \nРезюме. Symbolic summation in difference fields started with Karr’s summation algorithm (1981) which can be considered as the discrete version of Risch’s indefinite integration algorithm in differential fields. In the last 20 years this approach has been generalized and enhanced to a constructive summation theory of difference rings.\nIn general\, one can represent algorithmically any expression in terms of indefinite nested sums defined over hypergeometric products in such rings. As a crucial by-product one obtains optimal representations where the arising sums and products are algebraically independent among each other. In particular\, difference ring algorithms have been developed that enable one to simplify certain classes of definite multi-sums to expressions in terms of indefinite nested sums defined over hypergeometric products.\nWithin this machinery one can apply Zeilberger’s creative telescoping paradigm in order to compute linear recurrences for definite multi-sums and one can find all solutions of linear recurrences that can be expressed in terms of indefinite nested sums and products. Let R be a commutative ring with nonzero identity. As generalizations of prime ideals\, the absorbing ideals were first defined and studied by A. Badawi in 2007. A proper ideal I of R is said to be 2-absorbing if whenever a\, b\, c ∈ R with abc ∈ I\, then either ab ∈ I or ac ∈ I or bc ∈ I. DESCRIPTION:На 24 март 2022 г. (четвъртък) от 14:00 часа ще се проведе семинар на секция “Математическо моделиране и числен анализ” в приложението Zoom. \nDr. habil. Clemens Hofreither ще представи доклад на тема \nA Newton’s method for best uniform rational approximation\nАбстракт. We present a novel algorithm\, inspired by the recent BRASIL algorithm\, for best uniform rational approximation based on a formulation of the problem as a nonlinear system of equations and barycentric interpolation. We derive a closed form for the Jacobian of the system of equations and formulate a Newton’s method for its solution. The resulting method for best uniform rational approximation can handle singularities and arbitrary degrees for numerator and denominator. (петък) от 13:00 ч. ще се проведе дистанционно заседание на семинара по „Алгебра и логика”. \nДоклад на тема: \nAn Application of Separation in Discrete Time Interval Temporal Logic to Branching Time\nще изнесе Димитър Гелев (ИМИ – БАН). \nРезюме. In this talk we make an application of our separation theorem for discrete time Interval Temporal Logic (ITL) to the study of Interval-based Computation Tree Logic (ICTL*). We prove that the expressibility of the expanding modalities and\, most importantly\, propositional quantification\, carry over from linear time ITL to the branching time system of ICTL*. The relevance of this follows from the fact that point-based propositionally quantified CTL* (QCTL*) is the established intermediate language for temporal logics of agency as propositional quantification enables expressing the existence of strategies with given temporal properties. Let Ω be a domain in ℂ𝑛 such that the set 𝐸(Ω\, 𝐵𝑛) of injective holomorphic maps from Ω into the unit ball 𝐵𝑛 ⊂ ℂ𝑛 is non-empty. The squeezing function of Ω\, denoted by 𝑆Ω is defined as \n𝑆Ω(𝑧) = sup{𝑟 ∈ (0\, 1): 𝑟𝐵𝑛 ⊂ 𝑓(Ω)\,      𝑓 ∈ 𝐸(Ω\, 𝐵𝑛)\,      𝑓 (𝑧) = 0}. \nIt follows from the definition that the squeezing function is biholomorphically invariant and roughly speaking\, it measures how much a domain looks like the unit ball looking at a fixed point. As expected\, the study of the squeezing function leads to nice results about the properties of the invariant metrics on complex domains. The behaviour of the squeezing function is well studied however very few non-trivial explicit formulas of squeezing functions have been found. \nIn this talk we will establish the explicit formulas of squeezing functions on doubly connected planar domains in an elementary way. With the same method we will also provide bounds to squeezing functions of higher connected domains. Finally\, we will conclude by mentioning other results and further questions about explicit formulas of squeezing functions on planar domains. \n

(петък) от 13:00 ч. ще се проведе дистанционно заседание на семинара по „Алгебра и логика”. \nДоклад на тема: \nAutomorphisms of simple quotients of the Poisson and universal enveloping algebras of sl_2\nще изнесе Altyngul Naurazbekova (L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University\, Nur-Sultan\, Kazakhstan). \nРезюме. Let P(sl_2(K)) be the Poisson enveloping algebra of the Lie algebra sl_2(K) over an algebraically closed field K of characteristic zero. U. Umirbaev\, V. Zhelyabin proved that the quotient algebras P(sl_2(K))/(C_P – λ)\, where C_P is the standard Casimir element of sl_2(K) in P(sl_2(K)) and 0 ≠ λ ∈K\, are simple. Using a result by L. Makar-Limanov on groups of automorphisms of a class of surfaces\, we describe generators of the automorphism group of P(sl_2(K))/(C_P – λ) and represent this group as an amalgamated product of its subgroups. Moreover\, using similar results by J. Dixmier and O. Fleury for the quotient algebras U(sl_2(K))/(C_U – λ)\, where C_U is the standard Casimir element of sl_2(K) in the universal enveloping algebra U(sl_2(K))\, we prove that the automorphism groups of P(sl_2(K))/(C_P – λ) and U(sl_2(K))/(C_U – λ) are isomorphic.This is a joint work with professor U. Румяна Йорданова. \n\nЛекцията е на тема\n“Биоинформатични методи за анализ на геномни данни”.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nРезюме:\nГеномните данни са част от така наречените „Big Data“ и включват секвенции на целия геном или екзом\, РНК експресии\, ДНК полиморфизми и мутации\, епигенетични модификации. В този доклад ще бъдат представени  биоинформатични подходи за обработване\, интеграция и интерпретация на геномни данни. Представените методи включват: глобални геномни асоциации\, комбинаторни подходи за конструиране на мрежи от геномни асоциации и онтологии\,  машинно обучение и Бейсов пространствен анализ за анализ на метагеномни данни\, графични подходи за моделиране на динамични геномни данни.\n\n\nAbstract: \nBioinformatics methods for analysis of genomic data \nGenomic data are part of the so called “Big Data” and include whole genome and exome sequences\, RNA expressions\, DNA polymorphisms and mutations\, epigenetic modifications. In this talk\,  bioinformatics approaches for analysis\, integration\, and interpretation of genomic data will be presented. DESCRIPTION:На 15 април 2022 г. (петък) от 13:00 ч. ще се проведе дистанционно заседание на семинара по „Алгебра и логика”. \nДоклад на тема: \nQuantisation of free associative dynamical systems.\nBi-quantum structure of the stationary KdV hierarchy.\nNon-deformation quantisation of the Volterra hierarchy\n\nще изнесе Alexander V. Mikhailov (University of Leeds\, UK). \n\nРезюме. Traditional quantisation theories start with classical Hamiltonian systems with variables taking values in commutative algebras and then study their non-commutative deformations\, such that the commutators of observables tend to the corresponding Poisson brackets as the (Planck) constant of deformation goes to zero. I am proposing to depart from dynamical systems defined on a free associative algebra A. In this approach the quantisation problem is reduced to the problem of finding of a two-sided ideal J ⸦ A satisfying two conditions: the ideal J has to be invariant with respect to the dynamics of the system and to define a complete set of commutation relations in the quotient algebras A_J = A / J. \nTo illustrate this approach I’ll consider the quantisation problem for N-th Novikov equations and the corresponding finite KdV hierarchy. I will show that stationary KdV equations and Novikov’s equations admit two compatible quantisations\, i.e. two distinct commutation relations between the variables\, such that a linear combination of the corresponding commutators is also a valid quantisation rule leading to the Heisenberg form of quantum equations. The picture is very similar to the bi-Hamiltonian structure in the case of classical integrable equations. \nAlso\, I am going to discuss quantisation of the Bogoyavlensky family of integrable systems. In particular\, I will show that odd degree symmetries of the Volterra chain admit two quantisations\, one of them is a well-known quantisation of the Volterra chain\, and another one is new and not a deformation quantisation. \nThe talk is partially based on: \nAVM\, Quantisation ideals of nonabelian integrable systems\, arXiv:2009.01838\, 2020 (Published in Russ. Math. Surv. v.75:5\, pp 199-200\, 2020) \nV. M. DESCRIPTION:ПУБЛИЧНА АКАДЕМИЧНА ЛЕКЦИЯ\nна тема \n„Контекстно-базирани информационни системи“\nще изнесе \nдоцент Борис Шишков\,\n27 април 2022\, 14:00 часа\, Заседателна зала на ИМИ \nРезюме: \nСъвременните информационни системи често се налага да бъдат контекстно-базирани\, за да могат да се адаптират към промени в тяхната окръжаваща/социална среда. Контекстната ориентираност съответно касае адаптивното предоставяне на услуги (от такива системи)\, като разглеждаме три перспективи на адаптивност: (i) по отношение на нужди на потребителя на дадена услуга; (ii) по отношение на нужди\, отнасящи се до самата система; и (iii) по отношение на релевантни социални ценности. Адресирайки (i)\, тази лекция ще се фокусира върху това как ефективността в това отношение може да бъде максимизирана от гледна точка на потребителя\, като предоставянето на IT услуги се адаптира към ситуацията\, в която потребителят се намира. В тази връзка ще бъдат дискутирани няколко предизвикателства\, а именно: концептуализирането на проблема на контекстната ориентация\, адекватното (базирано на сензори) установяване на ситуацията на потребителя\, както и възможни проблеми с приложимостта. За илюстрация ще бъдат представени примери от различни приложни области. \n*** \nAbstract: \nContext-Aware Information Systems\nCurrent information systems often incorporate context-awareness in order to automatically adapt to changes in their system and social environment. Context-awareness in turn essentially concerns adaptive service delivery\, for which three adaptation perspectives are possible\, viz. serving (i) user needs; (ii) system needs; and (iii) public values. Addressing (i)\, this talk will explore how the user-perceived effectiveness can be maximized\, by adapting the IT service delivery to the situation of the user. Different challenges will be discussed in this regard\, such as: the conceptual framing of the problem of context awareness\, the adequate (sensors-driven) capturing of the user situation\, and possible threats to validity. Върху 4-мерно векторно пространство със скаларно произведение със сигнатура (2\,2) два независими вектора с обвивка максимална изотропна (нулева) равнина\, определят канонично пара-кватернионно действие. Ние забелязахме\, че върху ориентируемо 4-многообразие с подобна псевдо-Риманова метрика\, съществуването на две изотропни (нулеви) Килингови полета води до интегруемост на индуцираната структура – наречена пара-хиперкомплексна\, а метриката е анти-автодуална. Използвайки класификацията на Кодаира на компактните комплексни повърхнини\, можем да опишем топологията на съответното 4-многообразие в компактния случай. В доклада ще бъдат представени примери на подобни структури върху няколко от 4-многообразията и ще бъдат установени ограничения върху компактни комплексни повърхнини с подобна псевдо-Ермитова метрика и едно неанулиращо се нулево Килингово векторно поле. Докладът се базира на съвместни резултати с Й. Давидов и О. Мушкаров. \n

DESCRIPTION:The International Center for Mathematical Sciences – Sofia (ICMS-Sofia)\ninvites you to attend \nIntroductory Toric Geometry\nFirst part of a mini-course by\nPeter Petrov\nInstitute of Mathematics and Informatics\, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences \nThis is the first part\, consisting of four lectures\, of a mini-course in which the combinatorial geometry related to toric varieties will be introduced. It will be developed to define and express properties of toric varieties and toric morphisms\, and to investigate the geometry of the orbits by the torus action\, in particular the orbit decomposition. Next\, toric divisors\, invertible and reflexive\nsheaves on toric variety and their groups will be introduced and studied. \nThe notions and theorems will be illustrated by typical examples. One of the goals of this first part is to accumulate enough knowledge on which the second part of the course could be based. This mini-course will be available for PhD students and postdocs in algebraic geometry\, commutative algebra\, or theoretical physics\, who have studied basic courses in algebra and algebraic geometry. Some beginning knowledge of topology could be useful as well. (петък) от 16:00 ч. ще се проведе дистанционно заседание на семинара по „Алгебра и логика”. \nДоклад на тема: \nImages of multilinear polynomials on upper triangular matrices\n\nще изнесе Thiago Castilho de Mello (Universidade Federal de São Paulo\, Brazil). \n\nРезюме. Let f(x1\, …\, xm) be a polynomial in noncommutative variables over an infinite field K. If A is a K-algebra\, it defines in a natural way a map Am → A. If the polynomial f is multilinear\, the famous Lvov-Kaplansky conjecture asks whether the image of a multilinear polynomial on a matrix algebra is a vector subspace. Solutions to this problem are known only for n = 2 or m = 2 with partial results for m = 3 and n = 3. \nIn this talk\, we survey these results and discuss possible variations for this problem in the associative and nonassociative settings. \nIn particular\, we discuss a joint work with I.
