DESCRIPTION:Следващата сбирка на Семинар “Дигитална култура” \nще се проведе на 19 май 2026 г. (вторник) от 10:00 часа в зала 256 на ИМИ-БАН. \nДоклад на тема: \nCompeting Conceptions of AGI\nще изнесе Pei Wang (Temple University\, USA)\, редактор на Journal of Artificial General Intelligence. \nРезюме: While the term “Artificial General Intelligence” (AGI) has been used to identify a research field for 20 years\, a consensus on its goal remains controversial. These divergent interpretations are not merely philosophical\, as they lead to fundamentally different research agendas and engineering methodologies. In this talk\, the NARS (Non-Axiomatic Reasoning System) project is introduced\, with an outline of its assumptions\, representations\, inference rules\, and working process. NARS offers a fundamentally different vision of AGI than the one implied by today’s LLMs.

Since then\, they have become ubiquitous\, appearing in various contexts in seemingly unrelated areas of Mathematics. In this lecture series\, Ivan Dimitrov introduces and studies root systems and defines a generalization of root systems. He explains how this more general structure applies to various problems\, e.g. hyperplane arrangements. Finally\, he introduces and studies inversion sets of roots. (вторник) от 14:00 часа в зала 503 на ИМИ – БАН. \nДоклад на тема \nFinite time blowup and existence of global solutions of a semi-linear stochastic partial differential equation with fractional noise\nще изнесе \nEkaterina Todorova Kolkovska (Center for Research in Mathematics Guanajuato\, Mexico). \nAbstract: We consider a stochastic partial differential equation driven by fractional Brownian motion with Hurst parameter H greater or equal to 1/2 on a bounded domain with smooth boundary and Dirichlet boundary conditions. By means of an associated random partial differential equation\, lower and upper bounds for the blowup time of the solution are given. Sufficient conditions for blowup in finite time and for the existence of a global solution are deduced in terms of the parameters of the equation. DESCRIPTION:СЪЮЗ НА МАТЕМАТИЦИТЕ В БЪЛГАРИЯ\n\nИНСТИТУТ ПО МАТЕМАТИКА И ИНФОРМАТИКА – БАН \n\n\n\nНАЦИОНАЛЕН КОЛОКВИУМ ПО МАТЕМАТИКА\n\n​Поредната сбирка на Колоквиума ще се състои на 20 май 2026 г. (сряда)  от 16:15 часа в Заседателната зала на ИМИ – БАН. Доклад на тема:\n\nГеометрия на туисторните пространства\nще изнесе проф. д-р Гео Грънчаров\,\nИнститут по матем​атика и информатика\, Българска академия на науките. \n\n\n\nРезюме. Туисторните пространства бяха въведени от сър Роджер Пенроуз през 60-те години на миналия век и са обект на активни изследвания и до днес. От диференциално-геометрична гледна точка туисторните пространства са разслоения над Риманово многообразие със слоеве параметризиращи комплексните структури в допирателните пространсва във всяка точка\, които са изометрии. Интересното е\, че те имат и тавтологично определена почти-комплексна структура. \n   Започвайки с основните дефиниции\, в доклада ще бъде направен обзор на някои от свойствата на тусторните пространства и връзките с комплексната геометрия.

Марин Дринов”\, Българска академия на науките \nThe conference encompasses a wide range of modern topics at the intersection of physics and mathematics\, including conformal field theory\, vertex operator algebras\, integrable systems\, supersymmetry\, gauge theory\, gravity\, cosmology\, quantum information\, and the mathematical structures that connect them. \nIvan Todorov (1933-2024) was a leading Bulgarian theoretical physicist whose contributions to mathematical physics\, conformal field theory\, and the algebraic approach to quantum field theory shaped generations of researchers. He spent his career at the Institute for Nuclear Research and Nuclear Energy (INRNE-BAS) and held many fruitful collaborations with colleagues around the world. DESCRIPTION:ICMS Distinguished Lecture series in Representation Theory and Mathematical Physics\nДата и място: \nMay 19 and 21\, 2026 (15:00–16:00 Sofia time) and June 1\, 3 and 5\, 2026 (16:00–17:00 Sofia time)\, Room 403\, IMI – BAS \nЛектор: \nIvan Dimitrov (Queen’s University\, Canada) \nТема:\n \nRoot systems\, generalizations and applications\nRoot systems were introduced by Wilhelm Killing in 1889 as a tool for classifying Lie algebras. Since then\, they have become ubiquitous\, appearing in various contexts in seemingly unrelated areas of Mathematics. In this lecture series\, Ivan Dimitrov introduces and studies root systems and defines a generalization of root systems. He explains how this more general structure applies to various problems\, e.g. hyperplane arrangements. Finally\, he introduces and studies inversion sets of roots.
