We employ signed measures that are positive definite up to certain degrees to establish Levenshtein-type upper bounds on the cardinality of codes with given minimum and maximum distances\, and universal lower bounds on the potential energy (for absolutely monotone interactions) for codes with given maximum distance and cardinality. The distance distributions of codes that attain the bounds are found in terms of the parameters of Levenshtein-type quadrature formulas. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the optimality of our bounds are derived. (петък) от 16:00 часа ще се проведе дистанционно заседание на семинара по „Алгебра и логика”. \nДоклад на тема \nFinite presentability for metabelian groups\, Lie algebras and restricted Lie algebras\nще изнесе Десислава Кошлукова (Университет в Кампинас\, Бразилия). \nРезюме. In the first part of the talk we revisе the already known classifications of finite presentability (in terms of generators and relations) for metabelian groups and metabelian Lie algebras. The case of groups was solved by Robert Bieri and Ralph Strebel in 1980s and that of Lie algebras was done by Roger Bryant and John Groves in late 1990s. In the last part of the talk we discuss new results about the classification of finitely presented metabelian restricted Lie algebras based on joint work with Adriana Leon\, J. (петък) от 16:30 часа ще се проведе съвместно дистанционно заседание на семинара по „Алгебра и логика” и на общия семинар на секция „Анализ\, геометрия и топология”. \nДоклад на тема \nAlgebraic Non-hyperbolicity of Hyperkähler Manifolds\nще изнесе Людмила Каменова (Stony Brook University\, USA). \nРезюме. A projective manifold is algebraically hyperbolic if the degree of any curve is bounded from above by its genus times a constant\, which is independent from the curve. This is a property which follows from Kobayashi hyperbolicity. We prove that hyperkahler manifolds are not algebraically hyperbolic when the Picard rank is at least 3\, or if the Picard rank is 2 and the SYZ conjecture on existence of Lagrangian fibrations is true. We also prove that if the automorphism group of a hyperkahler manifold is infinite\, then it is algebraically non-hyperbolic. DESCRIPTION:На 18 март 2021 г. (четвъртък) от 14:00 часа ще се проведе семинар на секция “Математическо моделиране и числен анализ” в системата Zoom. \nДоклад на тема \nАпроксимация на параметрични модели за растеж и еволюция на тумори по метода на редуцирания базис\nще изнесе доц. Петър Рашков. \nАбстракт: Ще направя кратко въведение в метода на редуцирания базис (МРБ) за намиране на приближени решения на параметрични ЧДУ\, дискретизирани по метода на крайните елементи. Ще бъдат представени два класически подхода за построението на базиса: правилно ортогонално разлагане (POD) и алчен алгоритъм. За да бъде използван пълноценно\, алчният алгоритъм трябва да бъде придружен от оценка на грешката на апроксимация на численото решение с решението по МРБ. Направен е теоретичен анализ върху апостериорната оценка на грешката за две параметрични параболични задачи\, които описват а) модел за растеж на мозъчен тумор (Murray 2003) и б) модел за фенотипна еволюция в структурирана клетъчна популация (Chisholm et al 2015; Magal & Webb 2000). Дискретната задача е интегрирана по времето с IMEX схема от първи ред. (петък) от 16:00 часа ще се проведе дистанционно заседание на семинара по „Алгебра и логика”. \nДоклад на тема \nSome applications of transfinite numbers to algebra and some applications of number theory to transfinite numbers\nще изнесе Andreas Weiermann (Ghent University\, Belgium). \nРезюме. In the first part we will survey the role of transfinite numbers in the study of Hilbert’s basis theorem and its extension by MacLagan. DESCRIPTION:На 26 март 2021 г. (петък) от 13:00 часа ще се проведе дистанционно заседание на семинара по „Алгебра и логика”. \nДоклад на тема \nSome axioms about rationality in infinite concurrent multiplayer games with ordered objectives and temporary coalitions in QCTL*\nще изнесе Димитър Гелев (ИМИ – БАН). \nРезюме. Temporal winning conditions appear in both terminating and infinite games. Reachability (guarantee) winning conditions appear in terminating games. Safety conditions and conditions higher up in the (Manna & Pnueli\, 1989) hierarchy appear in non-terminating games. In a multiplayer game\, the latter classes of winning conditions are natural to drive players into forming permanent coalitions as the longevity of a coalition needs to match the duration of its agenda\, which may take entire infinite plays to implement. However\, a lifelong joint agenda is often inconsistent with the ability of players to change alliances\, especially if there are multiple objectives with preference. The dedicated constructs of established logical notations for strategic behaviour such as Alternating-time Temporal Logic (ATL\, Alur Henzinger and Kupferman\, ICALP 1997\, J. of the ACM\, 2002) and Strategy Logic (SL\, Chatterjee\, Henzinger and Piterman\, I& C\, 2010\, Mogavero\, Murano and Vardi\, FST TCS 2010)\, in their now many variants and extensions\, are off-the-shelf for permanent coalitions only. To the best of our knowledge\, no dedicated constructs such as those of ATL and SL are available for temporary coalitioning. \nIn this talk we fall back onto Quantified Computation Tree Logic\, QCTL*\, which admits embeddings of both ATL and SL\, and is now an established intermediate notation for logics for strategic ability\, largely because of its decidability on the unwindings of finite models (French\, Australian AI 2001\, Ph.D. Thesis 2006\, Laroussinie and Markey\, LMCS 2014). The embedding of ATL was introduced in (Da Costa Lopez et al\, CONCUR 2012)\, and independently by myself in (Guelev\, SR 2013). Elements can be identified already in the correspondence between ATL’s 2002 and 1997 semantics in (Goranko and Jamroga\, Synthese 2004). \nWe propose a vocabulary which extends this embedding to allow temporary coalitions. We illustrate its use to formulate example sufficient conditions for the rationality of shifting coalition structure and decisions in the extension of QCTL* by a temporal form of a binary preference operator after (Von Wright\, 1963) which we introduced in (Guelev\, CoRR 2020). The conditions reflect naive game-theoretic reasoning and are considered to become part of analogons to backward induction to infinite concurrent games with ordered objectives. DESCRIPTION:Семинарът  \nProblems and Methods Related to Coding Theory\,\nорганизиран от \nИМИ – БАН\, Секция “Математически основи на информатиката”\, \n Novosibirsk State University\, Novosibirsk\, Russia\, и \n Sobolev Institute of Mathematics\, Siberian Branch of  the Russian Academy of Sciences\, Novosibirsk\, Russia \nВи кани на поредната си сбирка\, на която \nAssist. Prof. Ivan Mogilnykh\, Novosibirsk State University\,\nще изнесе доклад на тема: \nCompletely regular codes in Johnson and Grassmann graphs\nAbstract. Completely regular codes in Johnson and Grassmann graph are interrelated with t-designs. In this talk we give an introduction to these codes and discuss several old and recent results. Martin noted that any (k-1)-(n\,k\,1)-design D is a completely regular code in the Johnson graph J(n\,k). DESCRIPTION:Секция „МАТЕМАТИЧЕСКИ ОСНОВИ НА ИНФОРМАТИКАТА“ \nорганизира семинар по проект \n„Стратегии за подобряване на качеството на моделите\, намерени от алгоритми за машинно обучение с приложение към квантовата томография“. \nДоклад ще изнесат: \nВиолета Иванова-Ролинг и Никлас Ролинг\nна тема: \nQuantum state tomography as a numerical optimization problem\nАбстракт: We present a framework that formulates the quest for the most efficient quantum state tomography scheme as an optimization problem which can be solved numerically. This approach can be applied to a broad spectrum of relevant setups including measurements restricted to a subsystem. To illustrate the power of this method we present results for the six-dimensional Hilbert space constituted by a qubit-qutrit system\, which could be realized e.g. by the N-14 nuclear spin-1 and two electronic spin states of a nitrogen-vacancy center in diamond. Measurements of the qubit subsystem are expressed by projectors of rank three\, i.e.\, projectors on half-dimensional subspaces. For systems consisting only of qubits\, it was shown analytically that a set of projectors on half-dimensional subspaces can be arranged in an informationally optimal fashion for quantum state tomography\, thus forming so-called mutually unbiased subspaces.
