Due to the COVID-19 situation in Bulgaria and all over the world and the restrictions on the travelling imposed by many countries, the Scientific Committee of the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics, BAS, made a decison to reschedule the conference Mathematics Days on Sofia 2020 for July 5th to 9th, 2021.   This period is in line with the new dates of the 8th European Congress of Mathematics which are  20 – 26 June 2021.

The Institute of Mathematics and Informatics at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, with the cooperation of the Union of Bulgarian Mathematicians and the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, organizes the Third International Conference on Mathematics Days in Sofia.

The first edition of the Conference was held in 2014 on the initiative of a number of prominent Bulgarian mathematicians and computer scientists working at home and abroad. Both then and now, one of the main tasks of this scientific forum is to further strengthen and deepen the links with the Bulgarian mathematical diaspora. Thus, the Mathematics Days in Sofia becomes a traditional meeting of Bulgarian mathematicians working at home and abroad, with their colleagues from prestigious scientific centers in the world, to present the latest scientific achievements in the field of mathematics and informatics and to set guidelines for future research.

IMI Mathematics Prize for the year 2020, established in 2014, will be awarded for the third time at the Conference. It is awarded to a Bulgarian citizen up to the age of 40 for his excellence in mathematics.
