On September 8, 2017, at 11:30, in Conference Hall "Georgy Baev", Cultural Center "Sea Casino", Burgas, the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics organise the First National Information Day on Innovation ecosystems of digital cultural assets to present scholarly and scholarly-practical outcomes of the Concepts and Models for Innovation Ecosystems of Digital Cultural Assets research project, No. DN02/06/15.12.2016, funded by the Bulgarian NSF.

The project aims at the search for and creation of new scientific knowledge and the achievement of fundamental results in the areas of big data, massive data mining, data management, data processing, data analytics, data visualization, etc. in the digital cultural heritage domain.

The work is concentrated on developing conceptual models, methods and tools based on analysis, synthesis and summary of best practices and approaches in the studied areas. For this purpose, the team is conducting extensive research and selection of approaches and solutions successful on a European and global scale in order to develop optimal and feasible conceptual models and methods of analysis, understanding, interpretation, context-dependent use and sharing of content in ecosystems for digital culture in new ways and through innovative means for fuller delivery of knowledge to digital collections and archives of cultural artefacts.

In the programme of the first National Information Day “Innovative Ecosystems for Digital Cultural Assets” is included the presentation of the monographic study “Multimedia Digital Library: Constructive Block in Ecosystems for Digital Cultural Assets. Basic Functionality and Services”, developed by D.Paneva-Marionva, M. Goynov and D. Luchev (IMI-BAS). The monographic study will be presented on September, 8th, at 12:00, in the conference hall "Georgy Baev", Cultural Center "Sea casino", Burgas.

It will show the scientific and applied research results of the “Concepts and Models for Innovation Ecosystems of Digital Cultural Assets” project (No. DN02/06/15.12.2016, http://cultecosys.math.bas.bg/, funded by the National Sciences Fund). The monographic study demonstrates conceptual models and methods for data management, data processing and context-dependent use and sharing of content in ecosystems for digital cultural assets in new ways and through innovative means for fuller delivery of knowledge to digital collections and archives of cultural artefacts. The study is published in May, 2017, by LAP LAMBERT Academic Publishing, Germany.

The National Information Day “Innovation Ecosystems of Digital Cultural Assets” will be held as a part of the Seventh International Conference on Digital Presentation and Preservation of Cultural and Scientific Heritage - DiPP2017 (http://dipp2017.math.bas.bg), September 7-9, 2017, Burgas, organised under the patronage of UNESCOand Burgas District Administration and with the support of the National Science Fund.
